More than 100 runners dressed as the famous ‘Where’s Wally’ character took part in a 5 and 10 mile fun run via the River Tawe route, starting and ending at the Giant store at Castell Close.
5 mile runners ran to the Liberty Stadium via this route while those who ran 10 miles continued up to Swansea Vale before returning the same course.
The Wear Wally race is the third of its kind for the charity and is in dedication to the late Paul Popham whose nickname was ‘Wally’. Although the usual ‘Where’s Wally’ colours are red and white, participants wore green and white – the colour of Paul’s football team St Joseph’s – and despite the heat all of them managed to cross the line wearing the famous hat and glasses!
This hilarious event will be taking place next year too so keep an eye out for dates coming soon!
