Hugo and Jude (and dad) Pagett ‘Brave the Shave’ videos

Hugo and Jude Pagett before their ‘BIg Shave’

Hugo and Jude Pagett are identical twin boys, except for one difference: Hugo was born with Chronic Renal Failure. In the not too distant future, Hugo will receive a new kidney, a spare part, provided by his Dad.

A year ago, Hugo and Jude wanted to grow their hair, so they came up with a cunning plan that if they were allowed to grow it, they would shave it off and raise money for a local charity.

After growing their hair for a year, the boys finally ‘braved the shave’ on their birthday Friday 10th July, raising a substantial amount of money for the Paul Popham Fund in the process. Hugo and Jude’s father also pledged to shave his hair off if the total raised reached £2000 before the big day, which it did, making the event a three-person shave!

A big thank you to the Pagett family!

All funds received for this campaign will go towards our latest project, which is to fund the refurbishment of the Children’s Kidney Centre, University Hospital Wales, at a cost of £132,000. This is a huge project for our charity and one that will benefit so many children with kidney disease and their families in Wales.

The Children’s Kidney Centre provides outpatient services and is the base for the ambulatory service for children requiring renal replacement therapy, including pre and post transplant care.

The unit is supported by having access to paediatric critical care and surgical services on site. There are strong links with the Bristol Children’s Hospital which provides the regional paediatric transplant surgical service. The unit offers a multi-disciplinary team approach with a strong outreach service, enabling high quality care to be provided close to home.

Hugo and Jude have currently raised £2758.75, but you can still donate, the link to their fundraiser is –
