Day 1 – Monday 1st August 2016 (85 miles approximately)
Our route will see us starting in the romantic French capital Paris, before heading east to the famous champagne region around Épernay for our overnight stay.
Day 2 – Tuesday, 2nd August (90 miles approximately)
We’ll then head north from the champagne country, through the rural lanes of the French Ardennes and the beautiful Ardennes Regional Nature Park towards the border with Belgium.
Day 3 – Wednesday, 3rd August (95 miles approximately)
Crossing the border into the Wallonia region of Belgium, famous for a number of different foods and drinks – such as the Liège waffle and Herve cheese – we’ll make our way through this fascinating country towards Brussels before sampling some of its world famous chocolate as a reward after another day in the saddle!
Day 4 – Thursday, 4th August (95 miles approximately)
As we head north through Flanders, well known to cyclists around the world due to the famous Tour of Flanders cycling race, we’ll pass by Antwerp, Belgium’s 2nd largest city and home to one of the biggest sea ports in the world, before crossing the border into Holland.
Day 5 – Friday, 5th August (85 miles approximately)
Our epic cycling journey will then see us take in Rotterdam, the Netherlands second largest city and home to the massive europoort and The Hague, home of the Dutch government and parliament, before arriving at our final destination Amsterdam, which is reknowned for its artistic heritage, elaborate canal system and cycling – with over 400km of cycle paths throughout the city. Now you can relax and celebrate!
On Saturday, 6th August, you’ll fly home and reflect on your fantastic achievement of having cycled over 450 miles through 3 different countries! Your bike and luggage will be returned to Swansea ready for you to collect.
