Paul Popham Running Club Launches Second Swansea Bay Summer 5K Series

The Paul Popham Running Club which was established in 2017 is organising  Swansea Bay’s secoond Summer 5k Series and Fun Run this year.

The races are hosted by 360 Beach & Watersports and all proceeds will be donated to the Paul Popham Fund, Renal Support Wales to help support more kidney patients to take part in the transplant games so they can build confidence and believe in themselves.

The 5K series are run on the second Thursday of each month throughout May, June and July, with the main race starting at 7pm and the children’s fun run starting at 6pm.  In addition to the races, there will be beach sides games and entertainment at 360 including the musical talents of local singer, Matt Cook who will be motivating the participants and entertaining supporters.

Joanne Popham, is the Charity Manager and founder of the Paul Popham Fund Renal Support Wales and the running club.  Commenting on the relaunch of the 5k series she says, “We first launched the 5K series in 2017 and after a successful first year for the club and 360 Beach and Watersports, we are excited for the developments for the series and fun run in 2018.

“I would particularly like to say a huge thank to you to our sponsors including Persimmon Homes, Gemeg accountancy, Active Swansea, Home from Home and Verdi’s among others. Without their support we would not be in a position to bring an event like this back to Swansea.”
