Sunday 4th October 2015 saw #TeamPPF take to the streets of Cardiff in the UK’s third biggest running event. With 22,000 other runners we had a great team of 17 donned in our white PPF running tops, in one of the fastest half marathons with our fastest man, Mark Govier and fastest woman, Joanne Popham coming in at 1:40:44 and 1:59:43 respectively.
The team met at the Novotel, Atlantic Warf to get ready and walk to the start line together at Cardiff Castle. Spirits were high as the team walked over together with a spring in their step, ready to conquer personal bests and enjoy themselves.
Those of us who were not running waited excitedly at the halfway point, outside the Wales Millennium Centre to cheer on our #TeamPPF runners and we were not disappointed. Beaming smiles and excited waving took over as soon as we saw some of our runners, smashing their personal bests and just overall enjoying the moment.
Once all of our runners had completed the race, and met back up we all made our way back to Cardiff’s Novotel for refreshments in the form of a carb fuelled buffet of lasagne, jacket potatoes and salad. As some of you may know, we at the PPF are big on thank you’s and making sure you know how appreciative we are of our supporters, so we gave out certificates and goody bags, donated by our sponsor PlutusHealth to our runners.
The day was absolutely brilliant with a huge buzz of positive energy, with our runners looking to raise £2,700+!
