BREAKING NEWS: We are pleased to announce our brand new virtual event, Kilometres for Kidneys.

We are excited about this new event, where we are asking you, your family and/or friends to choose a distance and route that you can walk or run in one month. Choose from an easy, medium, hard or very hard challenge during the pandemic to keep active, mentally and physically fit while helping us raise vital funds for our cause and people, children and youths with kidney disease to help them and their families lead a better quality of life.  We have set a series of routes/distances for you to choose from. Starting on #WorldKidneyDay (11th March) and ending on Sunday 11th April 2021, it's your challenge to complete your chosen distance and when finished you will receive a fancy medal and finishers certificate!

The routes and distances for your to choose from are as follows:

 

Easy

  • The average player distance covered in a Premier League match (Football)
    • You have 1 month to walk 6.5 miles (10.5km)
  • Paul Popham Fund office to Mumbles (South Wales)
    • You have 1 month to walk 8.6 miles (13.84km)

Medium

  • Brecon Waterfalls (Mid Wales)
    • You have 1 month to walk 11 miles (17.7km)
  • The 18 active runways of Wales
    • Cardiff, Cardiff Heliport, MOD St Athan, Swansea, Pembrey, Haverfordwest, Aberporth, RAF Valley, Caernarfon, Llanbedr, Hawarden & Welshpool
    • You have 1 month to walk 14 miles (22.5km)
  • Aberystwyth to Aberaeron (Mid Wales)
    • You have 1 month to walk 17 miles (27.4km)
  • Mumbles head to Ilfracombe (as the crow flies) (Wales & England)
    • You have 1 month to walk 25 miles (40km)

Hard

  • Bangor to St Asaph (North Wales)
    • You have 1 month to walk 32.5 miles (52.2km)
  • Swansea Airport to Cardiff Airport (South Wales)
    • You have 1 month to walk the 40 miles (64.4km)
  • Morriston Hospital to the Children’s Kidney Centre (South Wales)
    • You have 1 month to walk 41 miles (66km)
  • Gower Coastal Path (South Wales)
    • You have 1 month to walk 43 miles (69km)

Very hard

  • Carmarthen to Cardiff (South Wales)
    • You have 1 month to walk the 64 miles (104km)
  • The Llyn Coastal Path (North Wales)
    • You have 1 month to walk the 91 miles (146.5km)
  • All around Anglesey (North Wales)
    • You have 1 month to walk the 124 miles (200km)
  • St David’s Cathedral to Chepstow Castle (South Wales)
    • You have 1 month to walk 134 miles (215km)

Once registered you will receive a challengers pack which will give you all the hints and tips needed.
